The Coral Springs Charter girls’ and boys’ swimming teams have been doing well this season. They are now preparing for the upcoming BCAA meet and district championship.
The Panthers performed well in a meet on September 30 against Coral Springs and Cooper City.
For the boys, Charter defeated Coral Springs 101-6, Cooper City defeated Charter 106-61, and Cooper City defeated Coral Springs 146-4.
For the girls, Charter defeated Coral Springs 114-26, Charter defeated Cooper City 94-75, and Cooper City defeated Coral Springs 120-22.
Leading swimmers for the boys include John Alboronoz, Christopher Chaison, Sebastian Rincon-Villegas, and Brian Hamilton. Top swimmers for the girls include Mariana Montes, Jameela Rashad, Amanda Robbins, Adalyn Gardner, Alejandra Gil-Restrepo, and Molly Chaison, according to Coach Sheri Wells-Smith.
“Our girls beat Cooper City and Coral Springs. Our boys fought hard with many first and podium places in their events,” said Wells-Smith. “It was a fantastic meet all around – our team was full of grit and school spirit.”
Wells-Smith said it is essential to maintain momentum heading into the BCCA meet.
