Coral Glades girls softball picked up a big win after spring break with an impressive victory over Pompano Beach High School 3-0.
The Jaguars took a 1-0 lead in the first inning and received outstanding pitching from Isabella Vega. The sophomore stuck out 14 hitters as Coral Glades scored two crucial insurance runs in the seventh.
Offensively, Casie Zazanjian led the team with a pair of hits, while Vega, Raquel Christie, and Emily Love all had hits in the victory.
“After a great start, we tripped in our last game before spring break, said Head Coach Richard Waldorf. “Tonight’s game was an important win to get back on track against a quality opponent.”
The Jaguars now have seven wins this season as they have defeated Marjory Stoneman Douglas, South Plantation, Nova, Deerfield, Flanagan, and Coral Springs High School this season.
Up next, Coral Glades will face another tough matchup against Fort Lauderdale High School on Thursday, April 1, at 6:30 p.m.
