Coral Springs High School Hosts Singing Day For Student-Athletes

Coral Springs High School recently celebrated signing day, as 10 student-athletes officially committed to continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level.
The baseball program accounted for eight of the signees: Ryan Guthrie, Luis Comella, Alain Ducasse, Jayden Nunez, Angelo Painter, Jordan Guzman, Gabriel DeLaCruz, and Dallas Searcy.
Guthrie signed with South Florida State College after an outstanding senior season in which he led the team with a .446 batting average, one home run, 18 RBIs, and 13 extra-base hits. On the mound, he earned two wins and posted a 2.66 ERA across eight appearances.
Comella committed to Dominican University of New York after batting .317 with nine RBIs, four doubles, and nine runs scored. Ducasse signed with York County Community College following a 3-2 season on the mound with a 3.38 ERA and nearly a strikeout per inning in 10 appearances.
Nunez committed to Atlantis University after spending four years with the Colts, during which he recorded 7 RBIs and scored 17 runs. Painter signed with Indiana University of Pennsylvania after a dominant senior campaign in which he posted a 1.45 ERA and a 2-0 record. He also won three games as a junior and finished his career with 70 strikeouts.
Guzman committed to South Carolina Central Christian College after batting .386 with seven RBIs, two doubles, and nine runs scored. DeLaCruz also signed with Atlantis University after posting a .310 on-base percentage while adding three RBIs, six runs scored, and a double.
Searcy signed with York County Community College after batting .356 with one home run, 12 RBIs, two doubles, and one triple during the season. As a team, the Colts won 15 games and advanced to regionals before falling in a closely contested matchup against West Boca Raton High School.
The boys' basketball team also celebrated two signees: Matt Croissy and Jamir Davis. Croissy committed to Motlow State Community College after leading the team with 14 points per game during his senior season. After averaging just over five points as a junior, he nearly tripled his scoring output while also contributing six rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.
Davis signed with Rochester Christian University after averaging 11.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game. The Colts captured a district win over Boyd H. Anderson High School and advanced to regionals, where they scored 83 points in a 16-point postseason loss.
