People need a trusted resource to provide them with the best health insurance at an affordable rate. Now, residents can look no further than a family-owned business delivering just that.
Since 2008, Evan Tunis has been helping his clients obtain optimal medical coverage. By prioritizing the families and asking the right questions, he quickly finds the best solutions to fit each client’s lifestyle.
“It’s what we do well,” he said. “Leave the legwork of finding the right plan to us.”
Evan’s wife, Michelle, joined the team when she was pregnant with her first child. Previously an acupuncturist, Michelle now focuses on Medicare. She believes anyone who’s turning 65 should educate themselves on what’s out there and holds their hands through the whole process.
“We will walk you through it,” said Michelle. “We find the best price and the best plan for you.”
The personal touch of this husband and wife team sets them apart from the rest. Michelle focuses on finding Medicare plans with the right amount of coverage for each person’s needs, and Evan handles the individual and group health contracts.
Michelle said they know where to look and what to look for, and by completing most work over the phone, clients don’t have to deal with robots or take too much time out of their busy schedules.
“We have clients in the neighborhood,” said Michelle. “They know we get back to you right away by calling or texting us.”
Parents to son, Beckham, 6, and daughter, Meadow, 18 months, the family moved to Coral Springs six years ago and opened their office at 4991 NW 107 Ave. Now living in Parkland, the family can be spotted walking around the neighborhood with their two young children or at the park.
Both raised in Florida, Evan grew up in Miami and graduated from the University of Florida. Michelle lived in Coral Springs, attended J.P. Taravella High School and University School, and graduated from the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine for Acupuncture.
With roots in South Florida, they both share a desire to be involved in the community.
According to Michelle, when residents near 65, they are inundated with tons of mail from insurance companies about the enrollment period.
“Medicare can be confusing and complex and shouldn’t be left to chance,” she said.
At Florida Healthcare Insurance, they call each Medicare client six months early to get the ball rolling and break everything down.
“We make sure you don’t get overwhelmed,” said Michelle. “We clarify everything for you.”
By working with many different insurance carriers, they save their clients time and energy researching plans. A one-stop-shop, they offer Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare supplements — all spectrums of Medicare.
“We humanize the transaction of insurance,” said Michelle. “Whatever suits the client’s needs is what we go with.”
