The Coral Springs Fire Academy is hosting its first annual Fire Academy Expo on Saturday, May 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Families and future firefighters will have an opportunity to tour the award-winning facility and learn just what it takes to be a Firefighter or EMT.
Academy instructors will offer demonstrations in vehicle extrications and fire academy trainees will scale a 4-story tower to simulate a rope rescue.
Families should also stop by to view the safety demonstrations geared toward home safety, like CPR, drowning prevention, safe cooking practices and fire safety for children. Sparky, the Fire Dog, will also be available for photos. Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. Attendees will receive a free registration to any fire class offered at the Academy.
The Donald A. Haupt, Jr. Training Center is located at 4180 NW 120th Avenue.
