After receiving several offers from Division I football programs, Coral Springs Charter’s Noah Fernandez officially committed to the University of Miami.
He will be attending as a preferred walk-on following his four-year career with the Panthers.
“It feels amazing to play for a prestigious and well-known college,” said Fernandez. “Since I was a little kid, Miami has always been my favorite team. The atmosphere and academic and athletic talent made me more interested in Miami.”
Fernandez began playing football In his freshman season of high school and credits his coaching staff for helping him learn the game. He played under Head Coach Matt Garris during his first three years before appearing in ten games as a senior under Coach Chris Haire. With the help of the coaching staff and his family, he found the motivation to want to push and never give up.
Fernandez was a key to the Panthers’ offensive line. They won 11 games in his first two seasons, and he finished his career with 18. Next, he will be joining the Hurricanes, who a season ago went 7-5 and have won 19 bowl games this their career.
