Join the Chabad Jewish Center community to celebrate the High Holidays with friends and neighbors.
“Rosh Hashanah is not just the beginning of a New Year. It’s the “Head of the Year” and the day that invigorates and empowers the entire year ahead,” said Rabbi Yankie Denburg, adding that with an expanded synagogue, the center now has space for more people to join the High Holidays celebration.
“[The expansion] will also allow us to set up additional open seating for people who did not reserve seats in advance. In the past, there were times at the peak services where we were at standing room only,” he said.
The High Holidays celebration is open to the local Jewish community, regardless of affiliation, and he says it’s a great way to socialize with friends and neighbors.
Rosh Hashana Dinner
The Center’s Rosh Hashana dinner is held on Friday, September 15 at 7:30 p.m. and costs $45 for adults and $36 for children, with sponsorship opportunities available. The last day to register for the dinner is Monday, September 11.
The dinner will start with holiday services at 6:45 p.m. and candle lighting at 7:07 p.m. During Shabbat on Saturday, September 16, Chabad is holding services at 9.30 a.m. and children and teen services from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 a.m., followed by Kiddish.
Shofar in the Park
On Sunday, September 17, join Chabad for a full-family holiday experience called “Shofar in the Park” at Cypress Park, located at 1301 Coral Springs Drive, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The same morning, the services at the Chabad Jewish Center start at 9.30 a.m., followed by the sermon and shofar blowing at 11.30 a.m.
Yom Kippur
To celebrate Yom Kippur, Chabad is holding a candle lighting to commemorate the beginning of the fast on Sunday, September 24, at 6.57 p.m., followed by Kol Nidrei at 7 p.m. and children’s service at 7:30 p.m.
On Monday, September 25, services start at 9.30 a.m., followed by the sermon and Yizkor service at 11.45 a.m., Mincha Service at 5.30 p.m., Neilah Service at 6.30 p.m., final shofar blowing at 7.48 p.m., and a break the fast buffet at 8 p.m.
