The wrestling season continued this past weekend, led by the Coral Springs High School girls team taking first while another wrestler finished first for the boys.
The Lady Colts’ Abigail Moyer, Nylah Smith, and Maryaliz Bernardina all came in first place individually, while Breana Harris and Payton Moyer each came in second. Tiffany To and Beneisha Cherubin finished fourth. They then placed second at the District Championship, finishing with 130 points, 62 back from Wellington Community High School.
Shai Keery of the Coral Springs High School boys team took first place. The Colts came in sixth as a team, with J’Vieier Roemus, who ranks sixth in the state, finishing second. Jerrod Samuels ended in fourth place, Alex Haley and Jaylan Brown each placed 5th, and Tyler Green came in eighth.
J.P. Taravella finished in seventh place as a team, with Victor Dixon and Jacob Rosen coming in third place, followed by Lucas Siqueira in fourth. Enzo Amad placed sixth, while Caden Ankele and Devin Przchodny came seventh. Preston Lindsay led Coral Springs Charter and came in second place individually. Elijah Perez finished in fourth, while the Panthers came in 16th overall.
These three teams will now gear up for Disticts and Regionals this month, with the State Tournament starting on March 6.
