Volleyball Recap: 5-Set Rivalry Matchup and CSC's Hot Start

The matchups heated up in volleyball this week, highlighted by Coral Glades playing in its first home match of the season on Wednesday against J.P. Taravella.

The Jaguars needed five sets but went on to record a 25-19, 25-21, 21-25, 19-25, 15-11 win to improve to 3-3. Coral Glades previously beat Fort Lauderdale and Coral Springs High School this year. The Jaguars will be back in action on Thursday, September 4, for a matchup against Pompano Beach High School at 6 p.m. The Golden Eagles are 3-3 this year and won in three sets last season.

The Trojans are also 3-3, having beaten Dillard, South Plantation, and Miramar High School this year. They will play Deerfield Beach High School on Thursday, September 4, at 6 p.m. The Bucks also won in three sets last year and are 4-1 this year.

Coral Springs Charter knocked off West Broward High School in their only match this week in five sets and are 5-1. Their only loss came to North Broward Prep, as they have wins against American Heritage, Pompano Beach, South Plantation, and Pembroke Pines Charter.

Coming into their matchup on Wednesday, CSC had dropped only four sets and will play Cypress Bay High School on Monday, February 8, at 6 p.m. The Lighting is 1-2 this year after dropping only one match during the 2025 season.

Coral Springs High School is 0-3 and will play South Plantation High School on Thursday, September 4, at 4:30 p.m. The Lady Colts will then play JPT on Tuesday, September 9, at 4:30 p.m.
