Coral Springs Charter Girls’ Bowling Team Wins District Championship

Cameron Thiele is proud of her teammates on the Coral Springs Charter bowling team as they came together to win the district championship at Bowlero Tamarac on October 21.
“We all did our jobs and bowled well, and it is a great feeling to win the district. I am ready for the state championship next week,” said Thiele.
Coach Greg Mason was very proud of the team. They were undefeated against all the teams they faced in the tournament. “Everyone on the team bowled well, and now we have to get ready for the state championship. There will be some strong competition there,” said Mason.
The Charter girls’ team also won the county championship. Members of the Panthers team include Faith Tucker, Cameron Thiele, Jasmine Chung, and Giovani Gurgel.
The state championship will take place at the Boardwalk Bowl Entertainment Center in Orlando, October 28-30.
The Coral Glades girls’ team earned fourth place. Coach Joe Catalano said he was proud. “The team did an excellent job and they were really amazing,” he said.
Leading team members included Crystal Carrares, Lyric Woodall, and Sophia Pino.
The Coral Springs boys’ bowling team earned fourth place in the tournament. Coach Steve Rocke was very proud of the team and their accomplishments this season. The Colts began with two bowlers, added more members through a recruiting effort, and won the county championship.
“Our team has worked very hard this season and we did very well,” said Rocke. Top Colts bowlers include Noah McCabe, Enrique Soto, Israel Allan, and Jack Tarquino.
