
Seniors From The Coral Springs High School Baseball Team {Courtesy}
High School baseball teams recognized their seniors before the start of the District Tournament.
Coral Springs High School recognized Angelo Ruguian, Shaquille Sala, Sebastian Garcia, and Saul Bethancourt before beating Pompano Beach High School. Ruben Zuany led the way with two RBIs, while Angel Ruguian, Jaxon Krugman, Corbin Verlsteffen, and Natron Wheeler all had RBIs. Ruguian won, striking out seven in 3.2 innings before, while Bethacort and Cguthrie also pitched.
The Colts lost 9-8 against American Heritage High School despite a valiant effort in which CSHS scored five runs in the last inning. They then lost their final two regular season games, falling 11-6 against Neuman High School and 2-1 against Palm Beach Gardens High School. Guthrie finished with two RBIs against the Celtics, while Luis Comella, Manny Torres, Sala, and Jayden Nunez had RBIs.
EOy and Garcia pitched well despite the loss as the Colts finished the regular season 11-13. They will be seeded second, heading into the District Championship, where they will play Olympic Heights Community High School on Monday, April 14, at 6:30 p.m. The Lions are 2-16 this year, with their only wins against American Heritage and Seminole Ridge High School.
Coral Springs Charter honored Jack Foti, Julian Spinola, Marcelo Young, Mason Alexander, Anton Fournier, Yadisson Karbalaieasghar, Enzo Grugel and Damarion Chung. The Panthers fell 9-1 against ABF Academy despite an RBI from Nolan Mianowski and finished the regular season 9-12.
The Panthers are seeded third in their District Tournament after going 9-12 and will play Glades Central High School on Monday, April 14, at 6 p.m. The Raiders went 5-14 this season and lost their final game 17-1 against Lincoln Palm Academy. The winner of this game will play American Heritage High School, while North Broward Prep will face the winner of Clewiston and Somerset Academy Canyons.
J.P. Taravella was scheduled to hold Senior Night in their final regular season game against South Broward High School but was rained out. Ryan Valdez, Alvaro Aponte, Anthony Tizol, Sebastian Mayfield, Colton Dishman, J.C Martinez, Mikael Ghann, Tyler Morgan, Zachary Stephens, Peyton Morgan and Clayton White.
The Trojans finished the regular season 15-9 and will be seeded second in the upcoming District Tournament, facing Western High School on Monday, April 14, at 6:30 p.m. The Wildcats went 11-13 this season and lost 4-2 in their only matchup with the Trojans earlier this season.
Coral Glades had their Senior Night on April 2 and recognized Brayden Hoskins, Tyler Villanueva, and Asa Lindo before Jason Lincoln tossed a no-hitter in a victory over Somerset Academy Canyons. They went on to win their final two games against Cooper City and Monarch High School, finishing the season 14-5.
The Jaguars are seeded fourth and will play Marjory Stoneman Douglas on Monday, April 14 at 6:30 p.m. The Eagles are the top seed, have won the last four State Championships, and went 21-2 this year.
