The Motherhood Village founder, Nicole Gonzalez-Cumberbatch, was selected from more than 10,000 applicants as the Southeast winner of the 2025 Gusto Impact Award
The Gusto Impact award recognizes small business owners who are making a meaningful difference in their communities. Gonzalez-Cumberbatch officially opened The Motherhood Village in Coral Springs on April 7, creating a brick-and-mortar community hub designed to support mothers and families through classes, programming, and connection.
“It was a natural progression that was created from an opportunity,” Gonzalez-Cumberbatch told Coral Springs Talk about launching the physical space. “The space was here, and it was presented to me to use it for TMV, and I felt it was the right time to open up a space of our own.”
The transition marked a significant shift from her previous career as a corporate executive to full-time entrepreneur and community builder, a leap she says was rooted in purpose.
The Gusto Impact Award process began with what she described as a simple call to action.
“I received an email about the impact awards that was a call to action for business owners to share how they make an impact in their community with their business, so I replied and shared my story,” she said. “Then from that story, I was chosen as a top 3 finalist and met with their team to have a more formal interview based on the story I submitted, and from that interview, I was chosen as the Southeast division winner.”
As part of the honor, Gonzalez-Cumberbatch received $40,000 in marketing support, including billboard advertising, Meta ads, a cash prize, and free payroll services. She has long used Gusto to manage payroll for her team, making the recognition especially meaningful.
“Our biggest struggle is that people still don’t know that we’re here and don’t know all of the programs we offer; therefore, this will be a tremendous opportunity for awareness,” she said. “We will receive the billboard as well as Meta ads to promote the business and our offerings.”
The billboard is expected to be placed along Interstate 95 in Broward County, visible to drivers heading north. Final details on the exact location are still being finalized.
For Gonzalez-Cumberbatch, the award represents validation not just of her business model, but of the broader need for community-centered spaces for mothers and children.
Looking ahead, she says Coral Springs may just be the beginning.
“I get asked regularly to bring TMV to other cities, so our goal is definitely to open up more locations to support more families,”
