On March 18, the Rotary Club of Coral Springs hosted a community bowling event at Bowlero Tamarac, welcoming local participants.
The event raised money that will be given to the Veterans Coalition of Coral Springs, which is helping to fund a project to bring The Moving Wall, a Vietnam Veterans Memorial replica, to the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds in Davie on April 24-27.
“We had a good time, and about 25 people bowled. We had high school Interact club members along with Rotary members and their families, and we raised about $3,500,” said Sal Golfo, a member of the Rotary.
The Rotary Club brings together various non-profits in Coral Springs to develop working relationships and serve the community, according to Golfo. In addition to fundraising, club members organize social and educational activities throughout the year.
The Rotary will host a social at Tap 42, located at 3111 North University Drive in Coral Springs, on Thursday, March 26, at 6:00 p.m.
At 2:50 p.m. on April 9, Rotary will team up with the Coral Springs Parkland Fire Department and the Coral Glades High School Interact Club to host a CPR training event. The activity will be held in the school’s cafeteria.
