Coral Springs High School students will be able to access the new culinary lab in January 2023.
The new culinary lab includes two classrooms with state-of-the-art cooking stations, new equipment, and more preparation stations.
“The total approved budget allocation through the SMART program for STEM improvements at Coral Springs High School is $1,143,000,” according to Broward County Public Schools Office of Communications Cathleen Brennan.
Principal Suarez noted that CSHS opted to use these funds for its new culinary lab, increasing student opportunities.
“Giving our students top-of-the-line appliances will improve student performance and allow us to compete with other high school culinary programs,” she said.
Students will acquire more knowledge as their culinary background and experience will enhance through a real-world kitchen and continual classroom activity.
