Veronica Pereria is a high-achieving student at J.P. Taravella High School, both in the classroom and leadership activities.
Pereria, 18, a senior who lives in Coral Springs, is captain of the football cheerleading team and is president of the Student Government Association (SGA).
She is a member of Key Club, Future Health Professionals (Health Occupations Students of America-HOSA), and the National Honor Society, and she has a 4.6 GPA.
“As president of the Student Government Association, I aim to build leaders and help younger members gain confidence. We organize many school spirit activities,” said Pereria.
Her goal is to pursue a career in neuroscience. As a member of HOSA, she has worked in a physician’s office. “I love to study science and learn about medicine,” said Pereria.
As a member of the Key Club, she has worked on various service projects, including helping to maintain the school’s courtyard. Pereria is also a member of the Trojans flag football team.
Pereria has been accepted at the University of Kentucky and Oklahoma State University but wants to attend Florida State University.
