Coral Springs Charter and Coral Glades had an impressive showing in this year’s conference awards, with numerous student-athletes earning First Team, Second Team, and Honorable Mention recognition across multiple sports.
In bowling, Coral Springs Charter placed two athletes on the First Team: Faith Tucker and Cameron Thiele. Tucker won the individual district championship and finished 33rd at the state meet, while Thiele placed third at districts and 51st at states. Greg Mason was named Coach of the Year after leading the Panthers to a BCAA championship, a district title, a ninth-place finish at the state team qualifier, and a fifth-round appearance in the Baker Tournament. Jazz Chung, Audrey Gold, and Giovanna Gurgel were named to the Second Team, while Chloe Etter and Emily Gold earned Honorable Mention recognition. On the boys’ side, Keenan Neita was selected to the Second Team.
In boys’ golf, Bento Asis, Hudson Fee, and Kolton Viveros earned First Team honors. Asis tied for second at Districts with a 72, placed fourth at Regionals with a 79, and tied for ninth at the State Championship. Fee won the BCAA Championship with a 68, tied for second at districts with a 72, and tied for 12th at the State Championship. Viveros helped lead the team to District and Regional titles, placed sixth at the TKA Invitational, and shot a 72 at the Morrison Invitational. Easton Viveros was named to the Second Team, while John Buono received Honorable Mention.
Samantha McMillan, an American University signee, was selected to the First Team in girls volleyball after leading the Panthers to a Class 3A regional quarterfinal appearance. She totaled 251 kills, 282 receptions, and recorded a .335 hitting percentage. Olivia Greco and Mia Luersen were named Honorable Mentions.
In boys’ swimming, John Albornoz and Brian Hamilton earned First Team honors. Albornoz, a junior, finished second at the Class 2A state meet in the 200 IM with a personal-best time and placed seventh in the 100 breaststroke. He also won BCAA, district, and regional championships in both events. Hamilton holds school records in the 50- and 100-yard freestyles. He placed fifth at the state meet in the 50 freestyle, was runner-up at the district championship, and finished second at the BCAA Championships. Anthony Palumbo earned Honorable Mention recognition on the boys’ team, while Faith Moberg and Mariana Montes were honored on the girls’ side.
Sydney McDougall, Lily Richardson, and Alyson Thomas earned Honorable Mention recognition in cross country for Coral Springs Charter.
In football, Coral Springs Charter finished 5–6 and had Christian Clinkscale, Carter Hayden, Stone Rolle, Shanse Small, and Noah Yarbrough receive recognition. Coral Glades went 6–5, qualified for the postseason, and had Anthony Casseus, James Griffin, Joe Kogan, Julian Madero, Bryan Pierre, Ryan Pierre, and Romeo Williams named Honorable Mentions.
Bianca Gibbs earned First Team honors after winning the BCAA championship with a 71 for the Coral Glades girls golf team. She later placed second at the district tournament with a 70 and finished eighth at the state championship with rounds of 74 and 73. Shannon Glynn was selected to the Second Team.
Ethan Persten became the first swimmer in school history to win two events at the BCAA meet, capturing the 100 and 200 freestyle titles. He also qualified for the state meet B finals and posted personal-best times at regionals. Anthony Catalano, Jared Dubrow, Crystal Carreras, and Chanel Escarment earned Honorable Mentions in bowling, while Benjamin Denevi and Claudia Medina received Honorable Mention recognition in swimming.
