The Indian Regional and Cultural Center is gearing up to host its 13th Annual Diwali Festival of Lights, a celebration of Indian culture, music, dance, food, and much more.
The event will take place on Saturday, November 8, from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Rick Case Arena at Nova Southeastern University in Davie. The IRCC, a nonprofit organization, has long been dedicated to promoting Indian culture and fostering unity within the South Florida community.
“This year’s event is expected to draw over 8,000 attendees and will feature more than 1,000 performers and 40 vendors,” Prem Mirpuri, Diwall Committee Co-Chair, tells Coral Springs Talk.
“Guests can look forward to an immersive cultural experience that includes authentic Indian cuisine, jewelry and clothing vendors, Henna (Mehndi) art, and live entertainment within a spacious, air-conditioned indoor venue spanning over 100,000 square feet.”
The celebration will include over 90 performances, including Bollywood and folk dances, as well as high school, college, and adult dance competitions.
Leading the Diwali festivities are Mirpuri and Sanjay Gupta, alongside Vice Chair Durgesh Thaker Mirpuri, a small business owner in Coral Springs and Tamarac, and a past president of IRCC.
“Diwali is more than a festival – it’s a symbol of light, unity, and understanding,” Mirpuri said.
“Seeing our community come together and witnessing schools recognize this special day is truly heartwarming.”
Tickets for the IRCC Diwali Festival are available for $15 at www.irccflorida.org, with free on-site parking provided for attendees.
