Rivalry Games Ensue Before Holiday Break in Coral Springs

With the holidays approaching, the games have been heating up in Coral Springs, with several teams playing rivalry games.
The boys soccer team recorded a 5-3 win over J.P. Taravella. The Jaguars beat Charles W Flanagan High School on Tuesday and head into the break 11-3 this year, while the Trojans are 1-4.
Coral Glades has 13 players that have scored goals this year, led by Christian Wallace with eight. Theo Helman Domingues De Oliveira has five, while Jaden Lloyd and Eiren Villafuerte have four. Cameron St. Hilaaire tied for fourth in goals on the team with Santiago Sanchez, followed by Leonard Frandi, Zidaan Williams, Caleb Tomlin, Noah Cianciulli, Julian Roman, Santiago Lopez., Laureano Cordero, and Aaden Clark.
The Coral Glades girls soccer game against J.P. Taravella was postponed. The Jaguars went on to play Charles W. Flanagan Hign School on Tuesday and lost 6-0. Still, they hold a record of 4-5-2, while JPT is 4-3.
Alana Yasuda leads Coral Glades with six goals, while Thrinity Ferguson and Avery Seyler each have three. Noel Thomas, Isabella Fontalvo, Kylee Boyd, Aryanna Marin, Sabrina Santucci, Brianna Mendez, Jasmine Arryo, Carla Barradas, Gabriella Suarez, and Gina Bido all scored as well.
The Coral Springs Charter boys soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against North Broward Prep. The Panthers have been a streaky team this year, losing their first four before responding with three straight wins and four straight losses.

The Coral Springs Charter girls soccer team fell 2-1 against North Broward Prep. Still, they are 7-4-1 this year and scored 24 goals in their previous three wins.
In basketball, J.P. Taravella beat Coral Springs Charter 58-48. The Trojans improved to 4-4 and have wins over Plantation, Piper, and West Broward High School. They are led this year by Santana Henderson III in points, while Nick Florea is also averaging in double figures. The Panthers are now 5-3 this year under coach Andy Groothius. He returned to Coral Springs Charter this year and previously coached with the Panthers a decade ago. They have beaten Pompano Beach High School twice, along with Boyton Beach, Franklin Academy, and Oxbridge Academy. However,
The Coral Springs Charter girls basketball team beat J.P. Taravella on Dec. 11 and is 6-2 this year. Despite losing to Northeast High School in their last game, the Panthers beat South Broward, Hallandale, South Plantation, Western, and Pompano Beach High School,l while Jayde Riley and Adelyn Fears are each averaging over 10 points per game.
J.P Taravella had their wins against Piper and Everglades High School, with Sarah Zouaghi leading the team in scoring. The Trojans have six seniors averaging at least three points per game, with Brianna Whittaker, Ke’Shell Gilbert, Chloe Ledan, Willyana Jaques, and Danielle Duncanson.
