Nine Coral Springs Charter athletes inked their letters of intent, solidifying their dreams of competing at the collegiate level.
Anna Mariano of the Coral Springs Charter soccer team is officially heading to Florida Gulf Coast University. She played three years on varsity and won 36 games, making Regionals every year. Mariano finished with 39 goals and 12 assists.
The softball team had two players sign, with Bella Bertorella set to play at Rollins College in Winter Park and Grace Derstine playing at Warner College in Lake Wales. Bertorelli hit .317 this year for one of the top teams in the country, while Derstine won a State Championship as a freshman.
The baseball team also had two players sign with Killian O’Neill and David Austen. O’Neill will be playing at Weber University in Babson Park and is hitting .295 this year with a home run and 13 RBIs. Austen will also play in college at Thomas University in Georgia and was the ace of the CSC rotation, including a complete game one-hitter in their first District Playoff Game.
Alexandra Bruno is a two-star athlete who will be playing college volleyball at St. Thomas University in Miami after recording 855 kills in her high school career. She is also a Regional Champion in the shot put for the Panthers track and field team.
Saran Henault was also a volleyball star and will play at Eastern Florida University. She played on the varsity team for three years and had 822 digs. Zach Stewart of the CSC football team is signed to play at Worcester State University in Massachusetts after winning 11 games in three years on varsity.
Swimmer Riley McCormick is set to attend the University of North Florida. This past year, she reached the State Championship in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard fly.
