J.P. Taravella Baseball Goes 1-1 During Spring Break

The J.P. Taravella baseball team had a busy spring break with a pair of games on March 20 and March 22. 

The Trojans started the week with a 4-2 win over Gulf Coast High SchoolAnthony Quigley got the scoring going with a two-run single in the first before Noah Carroll knocked in another one with a hit in the second. Gulf Coast got one back in the fourth, but JPT responded with an RBI single from Jonathan Lopez. 

Anthony Giglio reached base twice, and E.J. Burns had two hits and pitched a complete game. Burns, who recently committed to Florida Gulf Coast University, threw seven innings, allowing no earned runs, five hits, and striking out seven.

JPT fell in their second game on Wednesday against American Heritage School. The Trojans had a 4-2 lead late in the game but allowed a run in the sixth and seventh inning before American heritage scored five runs in extra innings. Burns, Aris Rivera, and Miranda all drove in runs, while Anthony Quigley made the start and also scored two runs.

JPT fell in their first game out of spring break against Calvary Christian Academy on Tuesday and will play West Broward High School on Thursday at 4 p.m. Both teams come into the game with a record of 9-4.
