On Tuesday, Coral Glades had a historic day, with 14 student-athletes signing to compete in college.
The flag football team signed four players, including a pair going to Williams Wood University in Missouri: Evi Andreoni and Samantha Menard. Andreoni played quarterback and went 44-53 for 520 passing yards. She also threw six touchdowns, while Menard had six receptions for 77 yards. She also had 14 tackles, eight of them by the sack, and one interception.
Cassidy Morales will be attending Heston University in Kansas. She shined on the ground with 210 rushing yards and also added 135 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Anaya Campbell will be attending Campbellsville University in Kentucky and finished third on the team with 44 tackles. The Jaguars had a successful spring season in flag football, winning six games following victories over Coconut Creek, St. John Paul II Academy, Plantation, Miramar, Hollywood Hills, and J.P. Taravella.
Cory Grant is the lone football player to sign and will head to Atlantis University in Miami. He sparked the offense early In the season and also competed in the BCAA All-Star Game for the Jaguars after they had one win. Jack Kollwitz from the baseball team signed to play at Mississippi Valley State after a terrific season of hitting .517 with 25 RBIs.
In basketball, Tahir Bond and Dylan Burrowes both signed. Bond will play at Calhoun Community College and led the team with 15.3 points per game and was also a part of the first Regional Championship in school history in 2023. Burrowes is set to attend Malcolm X College in Chicago after averaging nearly a double-double this year with 8.8 points and 11.4 rebounds per game.
Ian Lemus signed with Denmark Technical College in South Carolina to play soccer. He scored two goals this year, and the team went 7- 5- 6. Maddie Palaez will be playing lacrosse at Suffolk University in Massachusetts, and Yulianna Sanchez will attend Barry University in Miami to play volleyball. Tavi Cummings is set to compete at Texas Tech in competitive cheerleading.
