The postseason was underway for one Coral Springs team while two others faced off in the Mayor’s Cup.
Coral Springs Charter lost to Umatilla High School 36-26 in their opening playoff game and finished the season 4-6. The Panthers began the season 0-4, scoring seven points or less in three of their first four games.
They lost to American Heritage, NSU University, and Ramson Everglades and fell 35-32 against Pembroke Pines Charter. CSC went on to win back-to-back games following victories against Pomapno Beach High School and Northeast.
After falling to North Broward Prep, the Panthers won their final two regular-season games against J.P. Taravella and Marjory Stoneman Douglas, outscoring their opponents 61-6.
Coral Springs High School picked up its first win of the year against J.P. Taravella. It was also the first win for Head Coach Anthony Wallace, as the Colts won 40-7. It was also senior night, as the Colts recognized Jayden Simpson, Rashaud Hamilton, Antonio Silas, Tony Jones, Zanu Fullerton, Camden Hulse, Jeremiah Masse, Tyrese Hardrick, and Imahni Richardson.
CSHS previously lost to Palm Beach Lake, Nova, Coral Glades, Piper, South Plantrio, Monarch, Marjory Stoneman Douglas, and Fort Lauderdale High School. They were shutout in two of those games and had not scored more than three touchdowns in any of them.
J.P. Taravella dropped to 0-10 for the second time in four years. They have won only three times in their last 44 games, losing this year to Hollywood Hills, Northeast, Pompano Beach, Western Everglades, Cypress Bay, Coral Springs Charter, and Coleman High School. The Trojans were also held scoreless in six of those games. Their seniors are Miles Green, Jaeden McGhee, Jaheim Olivieri, Jamichael Barnes, Kyle Duquesnay, Marcus Jean-Baptise, Michael Ghann, Nyheem Robinson, Adrian Myron, Jude Daguilh, Tremaine Myers, Masai Stephens.
Coral Glades finished the season 3-7 following a loss against Boca Raton Community High School. The Jaguars won all their rivalry games, beating Coral Springs High School, Marjory Stoneman Douglas, and J.P. Taravella. Their losses came against Cooper City, South Plantation, Stranahan, Hallandale, Spanish River, and Nova High School.
