The Coral Glades softball team picked up their first win on the new season following their 2-1 win over Marjory Stoneman Douglas Tuesday night.
Raquel Christie had the walk-off hit, and Erin Love knocked in the other run while Isabella Vega earned the win on the mound.
Head Coach Richard Waldorf thought his team made some mistakes but was proud of how they responded after losing six seniors.
“I was extremely happy with their resilience versus a very tough and well-coached MSD team,” Waldorf said. “I’m expecting good things from this group going forward.”
This was the team’s first game in nearly a year as they had their season cuts short in 2020 due to COVID-19. The Jaguars had won five of their first six games last year and will next be in action on Friday, February 26, when they host South Plantation High School at 6:30 p.m.
