The stars of the fall sports season in Coral Springs were recognized for their achievements, while others competed in All-Star Games.
Coral Glades
Biannca Gibbs highlighted the city by being named Co-Player of the Year in golf. The BCAA Champion tied for 15th at the State Championship earlier in the year and recorded the lowest score of participating Broward girls golfers across all classifications with a 148 total (73-75). She also placed second in the District and sixth at the Regional.
Her teammate, Shannon Glynn, was also named an Honorable Mention, while Carter Brooks, Justin Laing, and Noah Rosen were recognized by the boys team. Ethan Persten was also picked from the boys swim team.
In football, the Jaguars had Honorable Mentions from Anthony “AJ” Casseus, Joe Kogan, Winston Moise, Jordan Roberts, and Kourageous Thompson. Tyler Gordon, Moise, and John Wooden played in the BCAA All-Star Game after the Jaguars finished the season with two wins. Aryanna Blanco and Saniyah Tulloch competed in the girls volleyball game for the Colts.
Coral Springs High School
Jeffrey Belizaire was named to the First Team in cross country and had a sensational year, setting the school record in the 5K. He won districts, finished third at Regionals, and reached state three times in high school. Matthew Wykpisz, Jermain Massey, Imani Richardson, and Antonio Silas were selected for the BCAA All-Star Football Game, while Kaylah Pinkney played in the girls’ volleyball game.
Coral Springs Charter
Cameron Thiele received the highest recognition from the Coral Springs Charter bowling team, earning First Team in bowling. She placed fifth at the District Tournament (477 series) and helped lead the team to the BCAA Championship and District runner-up finish. Thiele went on to bowl a 631 series at the State Tournament. Faith Tucker was named to the Second Team, while Jazmyn Chung and Audrey Gold were Honorable Mentions.
In swim, Brian Hamilton was picked for the second team in the 50 free/100 free. John Albornoz was an Honorable Mention for the boys, while Mariana Montes was picked from the girls. The Panthers also had Kendall Parrott and Alyson Thomas picked to the second team from cross county, along with Natalie Comte, who was selected from the girls golf team.
Samantha McMillan was picked to the Second Team All-Conference from the girls volleyball team and played in the BCAA All-Star Game with Honorable Mention Jaide Keen and Allyson Gates. McMillan led the team in kills, while Keen finished first in blocks and Gates in aces to help the Panthers win 10 matches.
J.P. Taravella
J.P. Taravella’s success came in bowling, with Bryce Collins and Zachery Kimbrell selected as the first team after leading them to a District Championship.
Kimbrell won the District Tournament individually and bowled a 797 at states, while Collins came in third at Districts and had a 743 series at states. Marvin Nixon made the Second Team. Jayden Davis and Lenin Hamilton were Honorable Mentions from the swim team. Akeem Beckford and Scardy Fils represented the cross country teams. Aniza Zadid and Brooke Bunting played in the BCAA All-Star Game for the Trojans after they went 6-10 this year.
