The Director of a volleyball academy pressured one of his teenaged players to prove she was “all in” by engaging in sexual behavior with him, according to Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives working on the Internet Crimes Against Children task force. Instead of submitting to the pressure of his repeated text messages, the girl contacted law enforcement about her coach’s demands.

The 36th Annual Broward Waterway Cleanup will take place in Coral Springs at Riverside Park, 205 Coral Ridge Drive, on Saturday, March 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
For the past 17 years, Coral Springs has participated in the county-wide effort, drawing out more than 450 volunteers last year. Participants will help search the City’s waterways for debris.

The City of Coral Springs is all about families, and the Mayor and City Commissioners encourage good citizenship at a very early age by allowing local children to lead the Pledge of Allegiance at their City Commission Meetings.
Not only do the children get the great honor of leading the pledge, but they get their very first civics lesson by attending a city commission meeting and meeting their elected leaders. Oh yes, did I mention they also get to be on TV and receive a really cool shirt as well as getting their photo taken with Mayor Vincent Boccard?

Coral Springs Police arrested a female in connection with an arson that occurred at a Medical Office on June 11, 2012.
Last June 2012, Coral Springs Police officers responded to a structure fire at 9750 NW 33rd Street. During the search of the building an unconscious female was found inside one of the medical suites. The female was transported to Broward Health Coral Springs for smoke inhalation.

Presented by JM Lexus, the Taste of Coral Springs 2013 takes place from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26. Tickets are $50 prior to the event, and $60 at the door. VIP Tickets are available for $75 each, which allow guests early admission at 5:30 p.m. to get the first samples of the delectable foods from local restaurants and beverages from vendors and distributors, all of which are included in the admission price.

On Thursday evening, the Coral Springs Police Department dispatch center received a call from the T-Mobile store on 1327 N. University Drive that they were just robbed at gunpoint by three subjects.

Coral Springs Police have arrested two individuals for an armed robbery that occurred at 711 Riverside Drive.
On Tuesday, a juvenile victim, 17, approached several Coral Springs Motor Officers who were conducting training at the Coral Square Mall and reported he had just been the victim of an armed robbery. The victim stated that he arranged on Facebook to sell an iPhone 4 to two individuals later identified as Deandre Chambers, 24, of Lauderhill and Marc Jean, 17, of Coral Springs.

The Broward State Attorney’s Office has indicted the man responsible for the death of a Coral Springs businessman whose remains were found in a metal box in Palm Beach Gardens.
On November 6, 2007, Francisco Cuevas, of Coral Springs was reported missing by a family member. Francisco was last seen on November 3, 2007, at 5914 Coral Ridge Drive, before he disappeared.
