With the high school sports season officially over, dozens of student-athletes from Coral Springs received All-Conference selections highlighted by Coral Springs Charter’s Sophia Bertorelli.
The Panthers had their most success come in softball, led by 13-time Coach of the Year Mark Montimurro.
Sophia Bertorelli was named Broward County Pitcher of the Year. She went 20-1 this year with an era of .40 and struck out 254 batters in 128.1 innings. She was joined on the First Team by Addison Michel, Kate Maston, and Heather Roberson. Michel hit .554 while Maston and Robertson combined for six home runs. Stephanie Basso and Julia Estroff made Second Team, while Bella Berotrelli, Grace Derstine, Jessica Sacca, and Courtney Wahlbrink were Honorable Mentions.
Jeovani Hernandez was an Honorable Mention from the baseball team, while Alexandra Bruno and Adrianna Harris were selected from the track and field team.
J.P. Taravella had an incredible year both on the diamond and on the track E.J. Burns was named to the First Team All-Conference baseball team. At the same time, Anthony Giglio and Anthony Quigley were selected for the Second Team. J.C Martinez made the Third Team, while Nate Carroll, Michael Ghani, and Anthony Tirol were honorable mentions after helping the Trojans reach Regionals.
In track and field, Jade Brown made the Second Team in the 100 and 200 meters, while Nikai Mcnee and the 4 x 100 relay team were also recognized. Mike also was selected to the Third Team in the long jump, with Jasiah Clapp, Charles Green, and Sebastian Medrano all being Honorable Mentions.
Ciara Gendron and Mackenzie Wolfe made the Second Team for Coral Glades after the Jaguars advanced to Regionals in softball. Andrew Allison was the lone baseball player recognized, while the boys lacrosse team also handed our awards. Jarret Archer was named Team MVP. Marcelo Samuel won Offensive Player of the Year, while JP Torregrossa and Andrew Eccleston were named Defensive MVP. Jason Wolf was the Rookie of the Year.
Jeffrey Bellizaire was the only conference award winner from Coral Springs High School in track and field. However, the boys lacrosse team also handed out awards. Chris Baigorria won MVP. Brendan Kenny was the Defensive MVP, while Brian Nemargut was named Most Improved Player.
