
Coral Springs High School Flag Football Team. {CSHS Flag Football}

The J.P. Taravella softball team beat Coral Springs High School 24-1 in their first game of the season on February 21. The Trojans, who won nine games last year, then beat Plantation High School 15-0 and will play Pompano Beach High School in their next game on Thursday, February 29 at 5:30 p.m. The Lady Colts, though, are 0-3 and have been outscored 66-1 this year. They will play their next game on Thursday, March 7, against Northeast High School.
In lacrosse, the Coral Glades have only two wins this year in six matches but picked up victories against Coral Springs High School and J.P. Taravella. Andrew Allison scored three goals against the Colts and had an assist, while Caiden Castrano recorded two goals and an assist, and Cameron Hartung netted one. Andrew Eccleston also added an assist. The Jaguars beat the Trojans 10-5 to improve to 2-4.
The local high schools also faced off in Tuesday’s track and field meet. With eight teams competing, the Coral Springs Charter Charter girls team came first, followed by J.P. Taravella, Coral Glades, and Coral Springs High School. Tamara Hall, Keelee Okoro, Lily Richardson, Kendall Parrott, Saniya Swain, Taijah Taylor, Hannah Manger, Trinety Dajuste, Taijah Taylor. Nekalia Watt and Mackenzie Maniscalco all came in first individually, with the Trojans winning two relay races and the Panthers also coming in first.
The J.P. Taravella boys track and field team finished second place, 2.5 points behind Piper. Coral Springs Charter and Coral Glades came in third and fourth, respectively, with Coral Springs High School finishing sixth. Akeem Beckford, Matthew Wykpisz, Ezekiel Burrell, Preston Griffin, Eli Groothuis, and T’Yquez Jenkins all won events, while Coral Glades took first in the 4 x 800 relay.
That flag football season also began with Coral Springs High School beating J.P. Taravella 7-6. They also had wins over Plantation and Deerfield Beach High School, outscoring their opponents 40-14. Coral Glades is 1-1 and has a win over Coconut Creek but lost against Monarch High School.
